As your doula, my role on the birthing team is to provide compassionate, non-judgmental support throughout your pregnancy, labor, birth, and the initial postpartum period. My desire is for the birthing mom to feel supported and empowered during her birthing journey.
I provide assistance with creating a birth plan, offering comfort strategies, teaching relaxation methods, assisting in making well- informed decisions, providing breastfeeding support, and aiding in postpartum preparation.
Services Include
- An initial 60 minute free consultation. This is time for you to ask questions, talk about your birthing desires and for us see if we are a good fit. Your doula should leave you feeling comfortable and confident when together and also by her knowledge and experience.
- Two 2-3 hour prenatal meetings at your home or outdoors at a park- We will spend this time getting to know each other, talking about your concerns or fears, what to expect, your birth plan, options and choices, comfort measures and any other questions you may have. In addition to our scheduled meetings I am available to you throughout your pregnancy to answer questions or to assist with additional resources.
- Continuous labor support during labor and birth, and immediate postpartum- I typically go on call at 39 weeks of pregnancy or earlier if there are circumstances that would make us believe you will give birth earlier. When labor begins, you or your partner and I stay in communication by phone and text. When you are ready for additional support I will join you at your home, birth center or the hospital. I stay with you during active labor and throughout your birth. I typically stay for 1-2 hour after your baby is born or when you and your partner are feeling settled and ready to just have family time.
- One postpartum meeting (Virtual or in person)- In the first week of the baby being born I come to your home to visit you and your new family. This is our time to talk about your birth, the timeline, answer any questions you may have and help with any additional resources you may need.
A group or private childbirth preparation class can be added to this package
