Birth Doula
I am a trained birth doula dedicated to walking alongside you with steady, compassionate support before, during, and after birth. My care is deeply personalized, honoring your unique journey, your choices, and your voice throughout pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period.
When you invite me into your birth space, I become a calm, supportive presence on your team. Through prenatal visits, we build trust and connection, allowing me to understand your hopes, fears, and vision for your birth. I support you in advocating for yourself and feeling confident, informed, and empowered—wherever you choose to give birth, whether at home, a birth center, or a hospital.
I offer in-person doula services throughout Santa Barbara County and virtually nationwide!
Doula Concierge Service
Everyone needs a bit of extra guidance and support from time to time, and expectant parents are no exception—especially when preparing for the arrival of their new baby. The Doula Concierge service provides knowledgeable, compassionate, and non-judgmental support from an experienced Santa Barbara doula you can rely on and trust.
Spinning Babies® Parent Class
Spinning Babies® is an approach designed to optimize the physical relationship between the bodies of the mother and baby, facilitating a smoother childbirth experience. This method is part of a new paradigm that draws insights from a baby’s position and station to offer natural, physiological solutions.
Learn how to work with balance, gravity, and movement to help maximize space, allowing the baby to move into an optimal position for birth, including creating space for breech presentations. Embracing Spinning Babies techniques with the support of a doula can enhance this process.
Private and Refresher CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION classes
I provide private childbirth preparation or refresher courses to help you prepare for the birth of your baby. These classes are customized to meet your personal needs classes cover what to expect during late pregnancy, labor, and delivery, ensuring that you and your partner feel informed, confident, and prepared. We explore a range of topics related to late pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period, including comfort measures to support you throughout the process.
About Me
Kari Arcuri ~ Certified Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator
My name is Kari Arcuri and I provide Doula and childbirth services to families in the Santa Barbara area. I am an active member of our community and a mom of three kids. I am passionate about childbirth and my personal birthing journey with each of my babies is the source of my inspiration to support women through their own childbirth experience. I believe in birth, your body and having choices. I enjoy educating others so that they are confident in their knowledge and trust in the natural process of birth. I find birth to be both an amazing and empowering experience not only for the laboring mom but for her partner as well. I also believe for it to be empowering it's fundamental that birthing moms be heard, cared for and respected. I am always grateful to be present for the birth of a baby and truly feel that being a part of any birth team is an honor.
I started my journey in supporting pregnant moms in 2012 when I became a DONA Certified Birth Doula. I have since then grown my practice and have been trained as a Childbirth Educator to better serve my doula clients and the local birthing community. I have also spent the past eight years working with the Santa Barbara Birth Center as a Midwife Assistant. My experience working with the midwifery model of care at the birth center has strengthened my knowledge and experience of patient led births and evidenced based care. My intention is to provide comfort, continuous support, and information during each stage of the birthing process for an empowered birth experience.
